Q: How did you and your partner meet?
<\/strong>A: Daniel and I met seven years ago, during a warm summer, on Bumble\u2026I reached out first, complimenting him on his handsome smile, and he quickly replied that he loved my smile too\u2026from that very first exchange, the conversation just flowed effortlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For weeks, we talked every day\u2026I was hesitant to meet in person at first, but Daniel\u2019s kindness and patience never wavered. When we finally met for ice cream at a local shop, it felt as though we\u2019d known each other for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not long after, we discovered we had an unexpected web of mutual connections\u2014even my best friend knew him! It truly felt like the universe had been weaving our paths together for years, just waiting for the right time. From that first in-person meeting, I knew there was something undeniably special about him, and as they say, the rest is history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After seven years of laughter, late-night chats, and shared adventures, it was only a matter of time before Daniel planned the perfect proposal.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Proposal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Q: Can you share your proposal story? We want all<\/em> the sappy details!<\/strong>
Daniel proposed to me on Friday, August 9, 2024\u2014a day that will forever be etched in my heart. Around that time, we had been talking a lot about taking the next step and moving in together. Plus, with our upcoming trip to Italy at the end of August, I couldn\u2019t help but wonder if maybe\u2026the proposal would happen there. How dreamy would that have been?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Daniel had something even more thoughtful in mind. The story I was told was that his sister, Cassandra, had won a raffle at her gym for a two-hour family photoshoot at OBJX, a hidden gem in Toronto with an industrial-meets-bohemian vibe\u2014so unique and full of creative energy. It sounded believable\u2026though, looking back, there were a few little details that should have made me suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wore white that day\u2014mostly to make coordinating outfits easier for everyone\u2014and treated myself to a fresh manicure, plus hair and makeup, because why not? When we arrived, Daniel said Cassandra was caught up upstairs and we should head up on our own. As we walked up the stairs, I started to hear \u201cI\u2019m Gonna Be (500 Miles)\u201d by Sleeping at Last playing softly through the speakers\u2014a song I had told Daniel I loved and had even thought about making our first dance song one day. It was such a meaningful and touching detail that made the moment even more special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, I saw it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the front of the room was a sign that read, \u201cWalk Our Story With Me.\u201d The room was filled with rose petals, candles, and framed photos of us throughout the years\u2026so many memories of the life we\u2019d been building together. Daniel led me through each photo, each memory, each feeling, guiding me all the way to the end of the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then walked into the next room, beautifully lit with natural light. At the center of that room was a ladder, surrounded by rose petals, where Daniel got down on one knee and proposed. My hands were shaking, my heart was racing, and I said \u201cyes!\u201d through happy tears. Cassandra came out from hiding to celebrate with us, and soon after, our families joined\u2014my parents, uncle, brother, and Daniel\u2019s parents\u2014for cake, champagne, and photos. It was a whirlwind of love and joy, and it was absolutely perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a civil ceremony here in Toronto, followed by a religious ceremony with our immediate family in Taormina, Sicily, Italy this past July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wedding Vision & Aesthetic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Q: How would you describe the overall aesthetic of your wedding?<\/strong>
A: Our wedding was everything we dreamed of\u2014intimate, rustic, serene, and charming, with a touch of sophistication and elegance. We wanted the space to feel warm and inviting, while still carrying a timeless, refined look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The d\u00e9cor featured soft white and ivory tones, accented by lush greenery and black details for a modern, elegant contrast. Our welcome table had delicate floral arrangements and baby photos of both of us\u2014a sweet, personal touch that our guests loved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our reception, we added another personal touch by naming our tables after regions of Italy instead of using traditional numbers\u2014a fun nod to our love of travel and our upcoming wedding celebration in Sicily. Every detail\u2026came together to create a space that felt uniquely \u201cus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their vision came to life on May 18, 2025, at The Doctor\u2019s House in Kleinberg, Ontario, where every detail reflected their intimate, rustic, and elegant aesthetic.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Tell us about your wedding day! Where was it? What made it special?<\/strong>
A: Our wedding day, May 18, 2025, at The Doctor\u2019s House in Kleinberg, Ontario, was truly magical. The morning was calm and relaxed\u2014without a bridal party, we didn\u2019t have to start super early or coordinate a large group. I had curated playlists for every part of the day, blending favorite songs with wedding classics to set the perfect mood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the ceremony, we spent individual time with our closest friends, taking photos, toasting to love and forever, and even singing Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/a> \u201cLove Story\u201d at the top of our lungs. The ceremony itself was beautiful, followed by a group photo with all our guests. Cocktail hour was full of laughter, mingling, and celebration, and we managed a few more couple photos before the reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reception was intimate, romantic, and celebratory, with dancing, toasts, and so much joy. Our last song of the night was \u201cLove Me\u201d by Justin Bieber\u2014a fun, upbeat choice we both love and have sung together countless times in the car. It was the perfect ending to our \u201chappily ever after,\u201d leaving us with memories we\u2019ll treasure forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What was your favorite wedding day memory?<\/strong>
A: It\u2019s hard to choose just one, but one of my absolute favorite moments was the private first look with Daniel at our venue. In that quiet, intimate moment\u2026it felt like the world had paused just for us. During our couple photos, we shared private vows\u2014our intentions, feelings, and hopes for the future. It was so personal and heartfelt that it felt as if the camera crew wasn\u2019t even there, just quietly capturing the love between us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also loved the first look with my dad and with my friends, and dedicating my bouquet to my mom\u2014those moments were full of laughter, happy tears, and so much joy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Did you have a specific vision for your bridal look from the beginning, or did it evolve during your planning process?<\/strong>
A: I had a vision going into it, but I was open-minded\u2014I’ve heard so often that you go in with one idea and come out with another! My mother was the only one who came with me to the dress appointments, and she encouraged me to try on a variety of styles. I found myself torn between an A-line<\/a> and a sheath<\/a>, but ultimately, I chose a form-fitting Galina Signature<\/a>dress with a sweetheart neckline. It was romantic and soft, made of lace, but also had structure. By the end, it felt elegant, timeless, and perfectly \u201cme.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The staff was incredibly friendly, and the consultant who helped me was attentive and truly understood my vision for the dress, while also addressing my concerns as a petite bride. A: By the time I arrived at David\u2019s, I had a clear idea of what styles I loved\u2014and which I didn\u2019t\u2014which made the search quicker and smoother. I like to think through my decisions rather than rush them, so I told my mom and the staff that I wanted to sleep on it and return the next day to make my final choice. The next day, I returned with my mom and FaceTimed my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to show them the two options. Everyone loved both dresses, but they could tell which one truly made me light up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What made you fall in love with your dress?<\/strong>
A: When I put on the dress I ultimately chose, I didn\u2019t want to take it off. I felt beautiful, confident, and completely myself\u2014a feeling that doesn\u2019t happen often. In that moment, I knew it was the one. It was everything I had hoped for and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she finally said \u201cyes\u201d to the dress, it wasn\u2019t just about the look\u2014it was about how it made her feel on one of the biggest days of her life.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Did your dress impact how you felt on the big day? Tell us about it!<\/strong>
A: Absolutely! My dress made me feel confident and truly beautiful. The structure gave me a sense of comfort and security, allowing me to be fully present in every moment\u2014from walking down the aisle to dancing the night away. I didn\u2019t have to worry about a single thing; instead, I got to soak it all in and feel completely at ease, living every second of our special day to the fullest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What advice would you give to other brides who are starting their dress search?<\/strong>
A: Go in with an idea of what you like but stay open-minded\u2014you might be surprised by what you fall in love with. Managing your expectations is so important, too. There\u2019s no \u201cright\u201d way to react when you find your dress\u2014some brides cry, some don\u2019t\u2014it\u2019s such a personal, subjective feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And above all, make it a celebration. Drink the champagne, go out for lunch, make a whole day of it with the people you love and trust most. This is your bridal experience, and no one should tell you how to live or enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Is there anything you wish you’d known before planning your wedding?<\/strong>
A: Yes! We wish we\u2019d known more about what was considered \u201cnormal\u201d when it came to budgets, vendors, guest lists, and invitations. In the beginning, it felt tricky to navigate without any kind of anchor. I also wish I\u2019d known how challenging it would be to balance everyone else\u2019s opinions about our wedding while working full time and trying to plan. It\u2019s not impossible\u2026but a little more of a heads-up (and maybe more organized planning early on) could have helped. And one big tip: don\u2019t let social media set unrealistic expectations for your dress or your wedding as a whole. Use it to get inspired and excited but stay grounded in what\u2019s realistic and authentic to you and your future husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
