Your wedding day is a huge day. You have planned for months, years even. Every detail down to the groom’s shoes to the appetizers at the rehearsal dinner have been accounted for. However, have you thought about skin? Your face? Your makeup? As a bride, your face endures photos, videos, and up close and personal time with friends and family. This blog will give you tips and even recipes to help your skin and makeup get through your big day!
2-3 Days Prior to Your Event:
1. Exfoliate your skin with a gentle {granular} exfoliating wash {you may use a clarisonic in place of this if you have one}. We recommend Arbonne’s FC5 New Cell Scrub.
2. Do a homemade facial mask. We recommend this recipe:
Combine 1/2 cup hot {not boiling} water and 1/3 cup oatmeal. After the water and oatmeal have settled for two or three minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. {Be sure to place a metal or plastic strainer in your sink to avoid clogging.}Your skin will be left refreshed and glowing!
The Night Before:
1. Drink plenty of water and get a good nights rest.
2. If your lips are dry use this homemade lip exfoliating recipe:
¼ tsp Olive Oil | ¼ tsp Honey | ¼ tsp Brown Sugar
{we recommend Organic Ingredients} Mix all 3 ingredients together, apply directly to the lips and massage gently. Rise with warm water and pat dry. Apply your favorite moisturizing lip balm or a bit of olive oil. Do this before bed and wake up with perfect lips!
3.Wash your face before bed and apply a moisturizer and eye cream.
Morning of:
1. Make sure your makeup from the previous day/night is fully removed. {Especially mascara- make sure to remove any dry clumps & crusties.}
2. Arrive to your appointment with freshly cleaned skin. Use a moisturizer and eye cream. {do not apply to eye lid} We recommend Arbonne’s FC5 or Calm line. **This is the most important of the preparation. If you do nothing else please make sure you do this the morning of your event. It makes your makeup artists job much easier and your results will be greatly affected for the better.**
We highly recommend getting a facial from an aesthetician 4-5 days prior to your big event. A facial may cause some dryness from extractions; exfoliate 2-3 days prior to your wedding.
