You’ve got this…

1. Volunteer to be on-call the week of the wedding. The bride will appreciate the extra help and be able to focus on what’s most important.
2. Be prepared with a notebook at all showers to record gifts.
3. Troubleshoot emotional crisis. Prep with tissues… Maybe even hide them in your bouquet at the wedding. Sneaky, sneaky…
4. Have the bride make a list of any artsy photos she wants the photographer to take so there aren’t any unmet expectations. Print out the list so it’s on hand for the photographer.
5. Communicate with the bride. Know what she needs, what she is nervous about, and what indecisive decisions she has not made.
6. Prep an emergency kit filled with day-of essentials. This WILL come in handy. You’ll be ready for anything with our go-to Emergency Kit.
7. Give your phone number to all vendors and bridal party members so questions can be referred to you on the wedding day NOT the bride.
8. Delegate tasks to bridesmaids so they feel a part of planning as well.
9. Prepping and taking pictures the day of can be draining. Remember to bring water / juice to keep the bride hydrated and blood sugar levels normal. Don’t forget the straw so lipstick is not ruined during pictures.
10. Be on the offense at the reception and let the bride eat her meal before letting guests come and chat with her while she is seated.

MOH SPEECH

“¢ Stay sober! Hold off on that second glass of champagne until after you’ve completed your speech. A little pre-speech beverage is okay to calm the nerves.
“¢ Be yourself. Don’t try and be something you’re not, it’ll make the speech flow and stay sincere.
“¢ Consider your audience. Don’t tell too many inside jokes, because chances are you’re audience will get lost.
“¢ Don’t forget about the groom! Mention a moment you guys shared or when you knew he was the one for your girl.
“¢ Don’t talk about yourself.
“¢ Make it short and sweet. The speech should stay under 5 minutes.
“¢ Practice makes perfect!
“¢ Make a copy of the speech for the bride to keep
“¢ Dont wing it. You should have at least a general outline of what you’d like to say.
“¢ Don’t procrastinate! Keep your nerves at bay by preparing. The bride deserves the best.
“¢ When in doubt use a quote.
“¢ Thank the bride and groom for the wonderful evening and making you a part of it.
“¢ Offer encouraging words for their future.
“¢ Raise a glass to the couple and cheers!
