Our society has bred women (and girls as young as 6 or 7) to feel that (1) perfection is not only attainable, but expected and (2) if they don’t look like the celebrities and models they see on TV, then they simply are not beautiful. In fact, I would venture to guess that nearly every woman we encounter on a daily basis has experienced shame, pressure or self-doubt regarding her body at some point in her life. According todosomething.org, approximately 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting and/or unhealthy measures to achieve their ideal body shape.
That. Is. Insane.
Although it’s taken some time, I’ve grown to understand the importance of truly loving and celebrating my body exactly as it is, rather than seeing it as something to scrutinize and judge. We are only given only one vessel to get through life, and no matter the size of our bodies or the shape of our features, we all possess a wild, radiant beauty that onlywecan share with the world. We were created to be pretty awesome human beings (I mean, our bodies can literally create and sustain another LIFE. That’s pretty incredible.)
As a photographer, there’s nothing more satisfying than being able to work with and lift other women up. There is such a beautiful transformation that happens when women decide to release their insecurities, embrace their perfectly imperfect bodies and have fun in front of the camera. These moments are never more evident than when I’m in the middle of a boudoir session.
My ultimate goal is to help women realize their beauty. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left a session and immediately received a message from my client telling me how excited they are to see the images because they felt so beautiful and sexy throughout.
Something powerful happens when we choose to release our inhibitions, step out of our comfort zones and unabashedly show off our beauty! At its core, boudoir photography is just a really fun way to celebrate the beauty of women.
Although my husband and I focus primarily on engagement and wedding photography, I’ve been shooting boudoir photography since 2013. I’ve found these sessions to be some of my most enjoyable and rewarding work, simply because of the impact it can have on a woman’s confidence.
OnJanuary 14, I will be offering one-hour boudoir sessions at the beautiful and chic Radisson Blu Mall of America. Each session includes complimentary champagne or mimosas, 50+ high-resolution final images, one hour of shooting time and 2 outfit changes! A $30 deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining $140 due at the beginning of your session.
I view these sessions as an opportunity to lift women up, so feel free to bring a friend or two along to help ease the nerves! Even if you rock your session solo, I promise I will do everything in my power to make sure that you feel confident, comfortable and gorgeous throughout your session (and we’ll definitely be jamming to all the Beyoncé music your heart can take!).
Take a moment in the midst of wedding planning to destress, get glam, feel sexy and maybe even create the perfect wedding day teaser gift for your future husband!
Spaces are filling up quickly and I have only four remaining sessions available, so please don’t hesitate to contact me attigerlilyphotomn@gmail.comto book or ask questions.
