If you are planning your wedding for 2017 or 2018 and have thought about hopping on a jet plane to an epic location and need a sign, consider this it :). There are so many fun things about travel wedding photography and there is a reason it is becoming more and more popular!
1. YOU WON’T REGRET A GORGEOUS BACKDROP AND LOCATION OF PHOTOS!
One thing that never goes out of style is the beauty of unique cities full of gorgeous natural landscapes or classic cities. You will have your wedding photos for the rest of your life””they might as well have have a backdrop of an epic waterfall, mountaintop views, or ocean sunset in the background!
2. NO BETTER TIME FOR PHOTOS THAN WHEN YOU LOOK AS GOOD AS YOU DO IN YOUR WEDDING DAY!
Honeymoons are commonly used for the exotic locations for photos after a local wedding. While this is absolutely amazing, you won’t have a professional photographer following you around for a whole day to capture stylize and candid moments (and you wouldn’t want to, am I right!?) By having a destination wedding, you will be looking your best as you are in that picture perfect location. Don’t even worry about selfies or self timers on your phone. As a travel wedding photographer, I include a mini session on a day before your wedding so you can have more photos to frame in your home that are in other outfits””not just your wedding attire.
3. PERFECT FOR WINTER WEDDINGS AND SHORTER TIMELINES
Not everyone falls in love and is available to plan their wedding according to the perfect timeline. If you live in Minnesota like I do, there are about 8 months of the year where you can’t exactly have the outdoor ceremony in the summer sun and reception under the stars. I love photographing snowy winter weddings! But if that isn’t your style, a getaway to a warm place sounds amazing to me. Florida beach weddings, California redwoods, or Colorado mountains are great if you want to stay in the continental US for you wedding. If you wanted to go all out, however, places like Hawaii, Mexico, Iceland or Italy would be amazing for a small yet epic wedding.
4. COME HOME AND DOUBLE THE FUN!
It’s true “” you don’t need to invite every person you know to your wedding, and a travel wedding is actually a great way to not worry about who not to invite! By having an intimate adventure wedding, you can have a local reception where you CAN invite all the people you wanted in a more cost effective and casual setting. Or, if you want to go all out, you can simple have double the events, and even double the photography.
