This post is brought to you by Sharyn Kaye Travel.

Welcome back! I’m glad you made it. Hopefully Part I was just enough information to really get you thinking about the most important aspects of your magical Walt Disney World vacation. Let’s move on to Part II where we’ll get into a few of the details that will make your visit pop. As with all things Disney, there is A LOT of information; so we’ve broken things down into a 3 part series to make it a little easier. This is Part II!

Magicbands

When staying at a Walt Disney World resort, a complimentary Magicband makes your experience convenient and seamless: by using a pin number you select yourself, you can charge almost all purchases to your room – no need to carry cash or cards!
Magicbands hold your theme park tickets and FASTPASSES – no
need to carry physical park tickets. When you arrive at the park, you scan and go. Magicbands will also give you access your resort room – no need to carry a physical room key. Again, you just scan and go. If you are using the dining plan, your point balance will be stored
on your Magicband.

Magicbands are waterproof and very durable. If you don’t like wearing them on your wrist, you can attach them to a belt loop, your purse, backpack, or anything else you might be carrying.

Extra Magic Hours

When staying at a Walt Disney World resort,
guests are allowed into certain theme parks on specific days up to 1 hour before the general public or allowed to stay up to 3 hours after the park closes to the general public.

The schedule changes every few months and is available on the Walt Disney World website.

Super Hot Tip: Morning Extra Magic Hours is a fantastic way to see the most popular attractions if you weren’t able to get a FASTPASS and don’t want to stand in line for hours.

FASTPASS

For guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort, FastPasses can be booked up to 60 days prior to your arrival date.
(Everyone else gets to book up to 30 days in advance). Each person with a valid theme park ticket is allowed to book up to 3 complimentary FastPasses per day.

The first 3 FastPasses must be made at the same theme park. So it is best to book them as early in the morning as possible.

FastPasses are set in 1-hour increments: example 9:10 am – 10:10 am. As long as you arrive at the attraction during this window, you are allowed access to the FastPass line. Your next FastPass must start after 10:10 am so it does not overlap with your existing FastPass. Once you have used your first 3 FastPasses, you can book additional
FastPasses, one at a time, at any theme park, based on availability.

For instance, you start your day at the Magic Kingdom with the
following FastPasses:

Space Mountain 9:10 – 10:10

Buzz Lightyear 10:30 – 11:30

Meet Mickey Mouse 11:40: – 12:40

After you have scanned your Magicband at the Meet Mickey Mouse attraction, you can hop on the DisneyWorld app and schedule 1 more
FastPass, either at the Magic Kingdom or another theme park if you are park-hopping.

Once you have used that 4th FastPass, you can try to book another one. Again, at any theme park, it is based on availability. If you don’t have the DisneyWorld app, there are kiosks around the theme parks where you can schedule your FastPass.

My Disney Experience

Online or via the mobile app, you can manage most aspects of your visit: FastPass reservations, dining reservations, Magicband customizations, and resort check-in are some of the options. The app can help find restaurants, see the wait times for different attractions and, even direct you to places where you can meet the Disney characters!

Well, there you go! You made it through Part II. You are almost ready to start planning your amazing Disney World vacation like a pro. Next time we’ll review Disney World’s complimentary transportation, options, the theme parks and renting DVC points (DVC what?).
Stay
tuned.
