Olivia + Brandon are a beautiful Christian couple who met while attending Calvin-a school in Michigan. Their outdoor September wedding was absolutely breathtaking at the John P. Furber Farm in Cottage聽Grove, Minnesota. One-hundred and fifty of their closest family and friends were there supporting their lifelong commitment to each other.
The couple had a foot washing ceremony and photographer, Ellie Malynn, did an amazing job capturing this special moment. At first, some may think this is strange, but do we all know exactly what a foot washing ceremony is? It’s where the bride and groom wash each others feet in a bowl with a sponge and dry them off with a towel.
The reason some Christian couples decide to do this is because it is a symbol of being humble and willing to serve one another since that is what Jesus did for his disciples. By doing this at your wedding, it shows that you are committed to loving and serving each other as husband and wife with the love Jesus has for the two of you.
What an enlightening message this sends! We LOVE this idea. Plus, it’s different from the unity candles or sand ceremonies that we typically see a lot of!
