There had been a few bumps along the wedding planning journey for Heather… literally! Over the course of a few weeks, each one of her five bridesmaids announced their pregnancy. They were all going to be 8-9 months pregnant by the time the wedding rolled around; one was even due on Heather + Dan’s wedding day!
By this time, the couple had already set their wedding date, Heather had asked all of these ladies to be her bridesmaids, and all the dresses had been ordered a month prior to their pregnancy announcements. Stressed and worried, Heather was initially concerned that one of them would have to end up missing her big day.
But the bridesmaids were nothing but supportive and uplifting, wanting to do as much as they could to help and of course, still be a part of her big day. All of them are married and included Heather in their own weddings, so she knew they would do the same for her in a heartbeat – no matter what.
And luckily all of the ladies were able to be there on Heather’s wedding day, standing by her side with big grins, full hearts, and even a baby! One of the bridesmaids had her baby eight days before the wedding. Talk about super mom!
As the ladies were getting ready in the bridal suite, Heather gifted each of them a onesie with the CUTEST saying.. start scrolling down to see!
The most ADORABLE onesies and bridesmaid gifts, EVER! Heather notes, “I remember getting very emotional that morning when all five of them were surrounding me and it was all I needed.”
But really, these onesies… what a great idea to save and look back on in the future. Something to remember, cherish, and share with their babies as they grow up.
Ah, the first look… nothing beats it. Emotions, nerves, excitement, and adrenaline are all running high. IT’S THE BEST FEELING!
Such a lovely couple!!
Such gorgeous florals! Such a simple touch, yet one that radiates absolute elegance and romance. If you’re located in the Midwest and are searching for the BEST florists, we’ve got a list of our top floral designers here.
Speaking of florals, these ones matched perfectly with the ‘maids and their dresses. While Heather had ideas for her color scheme, her bridesmaids technically “sealed the deal” by choosing a “Heather” color (no joke…) for the bridesmaid dresses. And we think it turned out perfectly!!!
Both Dan + Heather are Minnesotan born and raised, so they easily chose the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis as their wedding venue. For them, this venue represents home with its stunning architecture and prime location in the city.
Deciding to keep the decor simple, they didn’t want to detract from the beauty of their venue. It didn’t need much, just some florals with lots of greenery and gold accents to complement the wood structure.
*insert dance moves here* Heather has danced her entire life and is now a teacher and choreographer. So of course, their first dance was choreographed by her, adding an element of energy into the night. Fun and energetic, Dan’s family was absolutely stunned that he was willing to get up there and shake some moves with Heather. Just a testament of how much he loves and adores his new bride!
And fun fact: their guests had to sing a song with dance moves to get the newlyweds to kiss. HOW FUN!
We love all the unique elements that were brought into Heather + Dan’s wedding––some unintentional (wink wink, the whole pregnant bridal party) but most intentional and beyond BEAUTIFUL. Congrats, you two!!! Enjoy the honeymoon and the rest of your lives enjoying the beautiful gift of marriage.
