The story of Amanda & Luke is brought to you by their photographer and a trusted Forever Bride business, RKH Images.
Amanda and Luke”¦these two are just adorable”¦. When Amanda and Luke contacted us, we had originally kept the date open because I thought Kyle was going to be on vacation. They contacted me roughly six months before the wedding and I just double checked with Kyle. Turns out his vacation was the following weekend, so I booked it up and am so happy I did. One of the first things they told me was that the two of them wanted to do their day the way they wanted it and weren’t going to be doing it for anyone else. We love that and we recommend it to all our couples. Why? It takes SO much stress off when you are not trying to live up to other people’s expectations.
Also, little things, (like when it rains the day of the wedding or the groom loses his ring) you’re just that much more calm about the whole situation. This wedding was at the end of October and couldn’t have been more of a Halloween wedding. There was a skeleton greeting you as you walked into the reception area, pumpkins lined the ceremony aisle (and nearly every other area of the grounds) and it poured rain the whole week prior, causing there to be a fog throughout the morning. This is a wonderful example of why you shouldn’t worry about the weather the day of the wedding. Before anything else, the weather doesn’t define your day. You can have a wonderful wedding regardless of the weather and the rain created a beautiful fog, which added a very romantic look to the photos. Another reason not to worry about the weather? There’s nothing you can do about it. Don’t worry about things you cannot control.
One big thing about this wedding that we had never experienced was that the groom lost his ring. This was not just any ring. It had been passed down through the generations of his family. Also, the officiant was not aware of it, so when the ceremony happened, she told the whole story of it. We spoke with them a few weeks after the wedding and they eventually did find the ring. They had accidentally placed it in the bag for the kennel caring for their Great Dane the day of the wedding. The two took it in stride, however, and made him a mock ring for the day. Great wedding to end our year on! We got to take home a bunch of pumpkins too! All our pumpkins last year came from weddings.
