Forever Feature: BLVD Kitchen & Bar

For today’s Forever Feature we get to take a look inside a very special restaurant here in the cities. Many of you have probably enjoyed a wonderful dinner at BLVD Kitchen & Bar and might even frequent there regularly. What many of you might not know is that they actually have a beautiful room and patio that is available for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, cocktail parties, private receptions, and corporate events. The space is filled with natural light from an entire wall of doors that lead onto a beautifully decorated patio. Since we got to visit this fall, the space was filled with space heaters, bistro lights, fall décor and bonfires to keep guests warm. We were able to meet and talk to Katya, who is in charge of coordinating all of the events held at BLVD and who told us more about the space.



1. What is your mission?

Our mission is to provide a high energy, casual, animated restaurant where drinks and food happen fast and by design.


2. How long has your company been around?

We just celebrated our 8-year anniversary in September. BLVD Kitchen & Bar opened on September 14, 2010.


3. What are the company’s top three core values?

BLVD has four top values for success; the aim to please approach, teamwork, positive mental attitude, and professionalism. An aim to please approach ensures guest loyalty. Immediate response to a guest’s needs reflects a dependable person willing to do whatever it takes for guest satisfaction and this is what we prided ourselves with. Teamwork is the foundation of the BLVD service. It ensures that service and efficiency are at their best. High energy from our staff is the thriving force behind teamwork. A positive mental attitude makes our guests feel welcome and their satisfaction is our single most important goal. Professionalism is a state of mind and as a member of the BLVD Team, it is important that our actions reflect on the company.



4. To what do you attribute your success/the company’s success?

The management team, our talented Chefs and all back of the house and all front of the house staff have made BLVD successful. Every role at our restaurant from a Host to a Bartender to a Wait Assistant, Chef or Manager is important and needed for our restaurant to run smoothly. Our hard work contributes BLVD’s success and our ability to work together makes it easy. We are very lucky to have such a supportive team and a comfortable high energy work environment.



5. What do you love about weddings? Have you noticed any trends?

Everything. But specifically the ambience & energy of the guests, the venues, and of course, the happy couple. Everyone is dressed their best, the flowers are arranged to perfection with an impeccable playlist that sets the mood.
Trends that I’ve noticed include barn weddings, sparklers replacing rice when sending off the happy couple, and smaller wedding parties.



6. If you could give the world, your friends, or your brides, one piece of advice,
what would it be?

Forgiveness is underrated. Hanging on to the little things can cause you to loose the biggest things; friendships and relationships. So, please let go of the grudges and love one and another.



7. How many people can your space fit?

The Private Dining Room can accommodate 48 guests for a sit-down lunch or dinner and up to 70 for a cocktail reception.


8. What are some of your amenities?

The private dining room is attached to a private patio that can be used all year around. We have a 60-inch TV in the room that can be used for presentations or slideshows. We provide white linens, black napkins, silverware and candle votives. Our guests have access to free Wi-Fi, great service and incredible food. We do not charge a room rental fee, but there are food and beverage minimums to reserve the private space; These minimums vary depending on the day of the week and time of the day.


9. What can the space be used for?

The space can be used for corporate events or social gatherings. We host a lot of rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and even smaller wedding receptions!



10. Is there anything else you would like to add that sets you apart from other

We are a family here at BLVD and we pride ourselves with enthusiasm and genuine desire to make our guests happy and that is what sets us apart from other restaurants. Another aspect that separates us from others is the depth and intensity of the pursuit of our values. Everything we do can be done better; we will always strive to better our performance and never lose our tenacity for perfection. Product quality is another aspect that sets us apart. Each menu item we offer will be “THE BEST IN TOWN.” If we cannot offer what we think is best, at a fair market price, then we will not offer it at all.
